Press Release Body = Dallas (July 17, 2007) - The international law firm of Thompson & Knight LLP is pleased to congratulate Partner P. Mike McCullough and his wife Sharon McCullough on being the recipients of the Dallas Historical Society's Volunteer Leadership Award, which is awarded to couples or individuals who have enriched the community.
This recognition is part of the Society's 2007 Awards for Excellence in Community Service. These awards recognize community leaders from several different fields who have made singular contributions to the quality of life in Dallas and the surrounding area. Award recipients will be honored at a luncheon on November 15, 2007 at the Hilton Anatole Hotel. Fellow Thompson & Knight attorney Curtis W. Meadows Jr. and his wife Patricia will serve as honorary co-chairs.
McCullough is a Partner in Thompson & Knight's Tax Practice Group and focuses his practice on estate planning and probate law, fiduciary administration, federal income tax matters, charitable planned giving, and the representation of tax-exempt organizations, including private foundations. He is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America since 1987. An active member of the community, McCullough has served on numerous boards and committees of charities, including the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Historical Society where he served as Chairman. He currently serves on the Board of Regents of Texas Woman\'s University and on the Board of Directors for the Children\'s Health Services of Texas, Salvation Army of Dallas-Fort Worth, and Dallas Symphony Foundation. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Bar Association.
Sharon has served as president, chairman, and board member to numerous civic and charitable organizations, including the Crystal Charity Ball Committee. She currently serves on the Board of Baylor Health Care System Foundation and the Executive Board of the Meadows School of the Arts. She has served as President of the Dallas Women's Club, Dallas Garden Club, and Dallas Theater Center. Among her many board memberships, she was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Historical Society.
